(Picture by Elaine taken Dec. 2007) Well it's very hard to believe that she is 14 today. 14 years ago I woke up at 9:30 in the morning to my water breaking. I was almost a week overdue, just off of 13 weeks of bedrest, it was a hot July in Chicago and I was definitely ready to meet Colleen. She was a beautiful baby with these almond shaped eyes and beautiful skin. She later developed jaundice and I remember we had to put her outside naked with an egg timer.
Lately we've had some rough times and I remember back to when I was in highschool and how awful I was to my mom (again - I'm so sorry mom). I hope that we can breakthrough to the otherside of the teenage years with a strong love and respect for each other. I hope that she knows somewhere deep down that all those super annoying things I do and say are with her best interest in mind. I only want her to be happy and healthy. We all miss her very much right now while she's in Chicago. We can't wait to see her at the end of the week.
