Smiley Boy

Kai is so proud of himself these days with his new accomplishments. This morning he pulled up on the stairs at work and kept doing this short laugh like "look at me". He was trying to get his legs up but wasn't quite able to do it yet. The past week he has been alternating the crawl on his hands and knees and his hands and feet. I think he's trying to figure out which version he likes the best. He's also been trying to hold things in his mouth vs. with his hands. You can see the gears turning in his brain. Another enjoyable pasttime is putting toys behind his head. I have a cute picture where he got a block stuck in the collar of his shirt. I'll post it later.
He still has not rolled from back to front. He came close last night but he always returns to the position where he's flat on his back with his chin to his chest grunting and physically trying to sit up from that position. I'm going to try to get it on video this weekend...

(I cut his head off in this one since I was holding the camera away from my face while I was making him laugh. It's a bummer since I really like his smile in this one - is that a dimple on the right cheek??)

He is still enjoying his swimming class and even likes to kick his legs when Thom puts him on his back.
He has been laughing so much lately and really hard and crazy like that baby in the Wii video (for those of you that have seen it). I'm dying to get him on video. The most recent time was Wed. when we walked around the lake. We had Grace with us and everytime I said "where's Gracie" he would burst into this hysterical laugh.
He was hard to be around this morning at work. I think it might be his teeth but I know I've been saying that for 4 months. Hopefully he's in a better mood when I get home tonight.
I'm planning to do some radical sleep training in the next week. I can't remember the last time I slept for more than 1-1/2 in a row...they say the memory is the first thing to go with sleep deprivation...
It's 74 degrees right now and supposed to be an amazing weekend weatherwise. I hope everyone has a great weekend - we plan to.
