Saturday in the Sunshine

Our Saturday started with dance class.
Lauren was too busy "texting" her friends to stop for a picture. In the car on the way to class Lauren and Natalia were pretending to take pictures with their cell phones.
It's all so different from when we were 3. After dance, we picked Colleen up from her friend's house and filled up the pool in the backyard. It was 78 degrees already at 10:00. We had planned to meet Chris and Lisa at the zoo but Lauren was a little "sensitive" (this means incredibly tearful and difficult) and we were worried about having Kai in the sun and heat all day so we invited them to hang out in our backyard. Chris was ill (hope you are feeling better) but Lisa came - for some reason I didn't get any pictures while she was here.

Lauren tried to talk Colleen into getting in the pool and when that didn't work, she physically tried to put her in it. Colleen claimed it was too cold but later Colleen begged us to walk to the lake and let her swim. I finally gave in and there were a lot of people down there swimming. She wasn't in the water very long...burrrr

Kai spent the whole day in the shade under the wonderful Japanese Maple that coves half our porch. He started off without a shirt and then ended up in only his diaper the rest of the day. It was so HOT. While Lisa and I took Colleen down to the lake, Thom grilled us a delicious dinner.

There aren't many days in Seattle that it's warm enough for you to eat your dinner naked...

I made the girls hot dogs for dinner. Colleen likes to eat hers with peanut butter AND ketchup....Lauren said she hoped summer could come again some day soon. Me too!
