8 Months Old!!!

Wow - I can hardly believe that he is 8 months old today. Do I start every monthly entry that way? It's always true! This month has been a huge month for development. Kai is entirely mobile. He crawls very quickly and pulls up on everything. Someone needs to be with him at all times. He loves the stairs at work and I have to do a chair barricade if I want to get anything done. He can get all the way up the stairs and loves to do it. He does that little laugh as he goes and turns around to make sure I'm watching (lucky for him I definitely have to be watching). He likes to turn around while standing and launch himself onto me. He hasn't taken a major spill yet but that's just pure luck. He's pretty reckless when standing but seems to be getting a little better. He is constantly letting one hand go and reaching for things. He has started clapping and will do so when asked. He loves to spash in the bathtub and pool. He will also do that when you ask him to. He has been saying "dada" and "nana". Cindy says she's heard him say "mama" but I haven't heard it quite yet. He still no teeth and still has not rolled from back to front! Maybe he never will?? Sometimes when I'm holding him and not looking at him he strokes my cheek and tries to peek around my face so I'll turn my eyes to him. It's very sweet and reminds me of when I used to come home from work and Lauren would physically turn my head so I was looking at her.

Kai still looks at me like I'm the most amazing person on earth and smiles so huge it takes my breath away. I wish I could catch one of those smiles on camera. That's my goal this month.
