The Weekend

I can't believe it's Monday night again and the weekend is already a blur. Colleen is still in a lot of pain and I think she's had enough of this slow recovery business. She's ready to start feeling better and start eating something other than chicken broth, jello and ice cream. Hopefully the pain will subside soon and she can get back to enjoying her summer! Thank goodness for unlimited texting or she'd really be bummed.
If the shirt fits....
On Saturday Kai took a trial class at Gymboree.
Lauren was very helpful.

Saturday evening Ben came over to play. They were playing with trains and Ben asked for the track lauren was using. Lauren said, "you can play with that...whatever...no biggie". She even had all the appropriately placed teenage pauses. Ben thought that was hilarious and he kept repeating "no biggie".

Then they painted. The picture below started out as the Blue Angels. They've been flying around here this past week. They kept telling me they needed more paint. By the end it just dissolved off of the easel when I tried to tear it off, it was so wet with paint.

On Sunday morning we stopped by the market for fruit. Rainer Cherries are definitely one of my favorite things. We also grabbed some baked goodies from the French Bakery and a bag of fresh doughnuts for Chris and Lauren.
After the market, we stopped by Lisa and Chris' place to check out their newly refinished hardwood floors.
The new floors are beautiful and they were also amazing for practicing walking. Kai is now at the point where he will just take a few steps into the middle of the room even when there isn't anything to walk to.
Sunday afternoon we hung out at the wading pool while Thom and Colleen went to see a movie. Lauren and Natalia met a new little girl Elizabeth. They had a blast riding around on this blow up crocodile Natalia had.
Check out those thighs. They are all muscle...

It really was a fun weekend. Thom and Lauren will be gone next weekend. They are heading to PA to visit Oma and Thom's brothers. They are both very excited. Hopefully Colleen will be feeling better next weekend and we can spend a lot of fun time together. She'll probably bail on me to hang with her friends, oh well, I do have a HUGE pile of books...
