This past month has been a big one for Kai. He started walking and hasn't stopped. He is constantly on the go and he is very fast. He will turn himself around to go back down the stairs but usually when he gets turned around, he gets distracted and interested in something else and crawls forward again. He loves opening drawers and pulling everything out. His favorite drawer is the bottom drawer in the kitchen; it has all of the kids cups in it. He beelines for it every chance he gets. He has started to put things back in but of course they come right back out again. He understands the word "no " but doesn't always listen. He'll start doing whatever it is again with this look on his face like he knows he isn't supposed to be doing it. He still gives great hugs and kisses when asked. He is a really good eater and has started eating more and more table food. When we get him dressed and undressed he is very helpful. He seems to know what's next, offering an arm or lifting a leg. He thinks it's hysterical when his head gets stuck in a shirt which is good since my kids have such big heads! He loves to blow and make noises if he spies exposed skin, an arm, a belly, a cheek. He'll drive straight in and then pull back to watch our response.
This month 3 more teeth have poked through - He now has the four on the top and 3 on the bottom. His sleep is a little erratic - some nights he sleeps all night and some nights he wakes up 4 or 5 times. This is rough on all of us except Lauren who doesn't appear to notice even though he is screaming in the same room as her.

A lot of walking this month involves picking things up and holding them over his head.
He loves to push, pull, throw, and bang eveything.
The only other word we've heard him use is "yuck". Once I heard him repeat it to me I realized I say that a lot, mostly when he heads for Grace's food, bed, toys or butt.

It was weird to see him so still. It was almost like he was in a trance.

Putting leaves into his fish and watering can.

This is Kai's face of concentration.
I can't believe he'll be 1 next month.
