Visiting Oma

On our first full day in Pennsylvania we went to Sesame Place. Lauren had lots of fun and went on just about every ride. She even got Oma to go on some with us. It was a really good time even with a lightning storm that ended the water slide portion of our day.

Lauren even got to meet Mr. Noodle and Elmo.
On Sunday, we went down to the Phillies game. Lauren was very excited to meet the Philly Phanatic. Luckily, she didn't have the same reaction to him that I did when I first met him, which was tears and hiding. The game was delayed by about 2 hours due to another lightning storm, which seemed to be a theme for the trip.

Looking cute with Oma.

On Monday, we went to Seaside Heights on the Jersey shore. Sticking with the theme as soon as we got there a lightning storm came to the boardwalk. If you look off the pier you can see a water funnel forming off the water.

While we ate lunch the storm passed. Lauren got to go on even more rides on the boardwalk.

Not surprising that she had to ride in this car.

Checking out the beach while on the log flume.

Thanks to Shawn, the little boy who stayed on the ride so that Lauren could go on this whale swing (yet another thing that I cried about when I was her age), she really is quite adventurous.

When we got down to the beach Lauren dove right into the sand and started digging.
It was quite an effort to get her down to the water.

Unfortunately, while down by the water a wave came and knocked her over. She was quite shocked by the fact that she was instantly sitting in the ocean. After a moment she saw the humor in the situation.

But alas, every good time must come to an end. We had a really good time and wished it could have been longer.
