Celebrating

A huge thank you to everyone who made my birthday so wonderful and that is ALL of you. I really am surrounded by extra special friends and family. I am grateful to each and everyone of you and I feel very lucky to have you all in my life.

On Thursday my work family took me to lunch.

Cindy had just put some lipstick on Lauren.Lauren performed some magic tricks. Alida looks like she might have guessed the secret of the disappearing credit card.

Then we gave Kai a practice cupcake so he'd be ready on the 28th for his birthday. The frosting was too much for him but he inhaled the cake portion barely even stopping to chew it and then made this face below when we didn't give him a second one...

I think he's ready for Sunday...

Saturday morning Lisa and Chris showed up with breakfast and supplies to create a birthday poster. It was really fun to create with them.

The newest book Lauren carries around is Slaughterhouse 5.
She read Lisa a story from it involving pigs and alligators in the forest and then Lisa read her one...
Then we walked the lake in the pouring rain.

Saturday night Jolene and John had us over for dinner.

John made Lauren a Quesadilla and she said (I swear there was no prompting by me) -
"Thank you for this delicious dinner John." It was so sweet.
Then we tried to get a picture of everyone but it was after 7:00 and Kai was super crabby and ready for bed... maybe John got a better shot - I didn't have my good flash on and kept getting the reflection in the window.

Poor Kai...

I wish I had gotten a picture of Collin looking at Colleen and flirting with her. I think she is his first crush. It'll be interesting to see if the woman he marries someday strangely resembles Colleen.
