On Saturday in the morning we did some yardwork and Lauren played with worms. Colleen did not want to touch them and Lauren kept insisting that they "wouldn't hurt her". I wish I knew the moment Colleen stopped wanting to touch worms.

That evening we met John, Jolene, Haiden and Collin at Gasworks Park. We had bought some sand toys earlier in the day. When we got to the sand, Lauren got this attitude about her and started stomping around. She dumped out the toys and said in this very teenage voice, "now I have to make a frickin sandcastle". I think I caught a little of the attitude in this picture. It's amazing (and a little scary) to watch her mirror Colleen.

Headphones and text messaging make family outings bareable.
