7 Months Old

Kai is 7 months old today.
His first teething biscuit.
I can't believe I forgot how gross these things are.

Kai spends the majority of his days in this position. He is now going from sitting to crawling position and then back to sitting. No actual hand and knee crawling has occured, probably because he tends to be on his hands and feet! He shifts around to get where he needs to be. There is always a lot of grunting and heavy breathing involved. He still has not rolled from back to front. Now when I lay him on his back instead of twisting on his side like he use to, he just lifts his neck and strains like by sheer will he is going to use his stomach muscles to sit straight up. It's actually kind of funny to see. He also does this when I take him out of the car in his carseat. He strains his neck forward. It makes me want to push his head back against the carseat. It just looks so uncomfortable.

This month - he has been blowing at us minus the raspberry noise. It's just air but he seems pretty impressed with himself when he does it. He has also been doing this fake laugh, then he buries his face in my shoulder and jumps up and down on my lap. He is still going to work with me in the mornings but lately he's been spending most of that time naping. I love that lately during every bath the first time I bring the wash cloth to his cheek he laughs and yet he hates when I wipe his cheeks with a baby wipe. He has had two times when he laughed so hard it almost sounded like he was going into a fit; once I was shaking my head and being super silly and the other time Lauren was blowing a harmonica. He has discovered tags and now, more often than not, they are more facinating then the toy they come on. He loves to play peekaboo and see the cute baby in the mirror. Who he will also fake laugh for and then bury his head in my shoulder. He loves to wrestle with Thom. It's fun to remember the good moments this past month especially since he has been a bit cranky the past few days. Maybe that means teeth are on their way? I'm excited to see what this next month brings but I still wish I could slow down the clock.
