GaGa and NoNo visit Seattle

I'm sorry for the delay in posting. Time has been slipping away lately.
It was nice to see my Mom and Rich last weekend. We were planning on taking it easy but did not realize how "easy" until Lauren's visit to Children's Hospital. They arrived Thursday night and we went out for a late dinner. On Friday I worked for a few hours and then picked them up at their hotel. We took Lauren to her favorite toy store. Lauren and I go every weekend to play with the Thomas set. Her favorite Trains are Oliver and Gordon.

Then we went to lunch and over the next 6 hours Lauren went from this...

To this ...

Lauren has been getting these little skin infections for the past year. Her doctor says they are very common in children and will dissapear as she gets older. We usually just put warm towels on them and then some cream to prevent a bacterial infection. This time one of them got out of hand and so her doctor sent us to Children's to have it drained. She was so brave. The nurse blew both the vains in her hands. Anyone who has had this happen to them knows how exteremly painful this is. As the nurse left she said "I'm so sorry I hurt you". Lauren looked up at her, still recovering from crying, and said "It's okay". It was so sweet. My mom and I spent 8 hours at Children's Friday night with her. Thank you for being there with us Mom. You were a great support!

The next day Lauren was 100% herself. Running around, laughing and asking to ride her bike. She only took 1 dose of codine on Friday night and wouldn't take it after that. I was having a hard enough time getting the anitbiotic down her. She kept spitting it in my face. She never once complained of pain. She's so tough. We had to go back to her doctor's on Sat for a recheck and to the hospital on Sunday so the visit with my Mom and Rich was a little different that we usually have. Since Lauren was feeling so good on Sat. night we did a market feast. Cindy, Jolene and Haiden joined us. As you know there is always too much food! It was nice of them to come by to help us eat it!

NoNo bought Lauren some fish jammies to cheer her up. They were size 6 so they kept falling off her hips. Not only did they cheer Lauren up, they cheered everyone else up as we watched her try to keep them on! Thanks NoNo!

Lauren loves Guac!

The ladies practice their "swing".

Thom and Haiden finger wrestle.

Rich left Sunday morning. After our recheck at the hospital, we went to Johnny Rockets for lunch. Thank you to Mom and Colleen for letting us share their traditional lunch place.

Sunday night we ate outside at Dukes. The weather was perfect. Then on Monday morning Colleen flew with GaGa to Chicago. We miss her!

(They are squinting because it is so sunny in Seattle - right Rich?)

Thank you for coming to visit and for helping us through the traumatic experience.

We love you both and are looking forward to your next visit!
