Kai's 1st Birthday Party

We had a sesame street theme for his first birthday. The party from 11-1 on Sunday. We thought this would be a perfect time since Kai usually wakes up around 10:30 and takes a nap around 1:00 but he slept through the first half of the party. We wanted him to be in a great mood so we didn't want to wake him up. When he did finally wake up, I was a little worried about how he would react to the party atmosphere but he dove right in with a huge smile. The day was beautiful and we were able to open the doors and have people sit outside. The kids had a blast during the party and everyone seemed to get along really well. Kai invited his friends; Brooks and Miles (Ben's younger twin brothers who turned 1 in July), Sam (Josh's younger brother who will be 1 in Nov.) and Collin who will be 1 in Dec. Of course all the older brothers came too - Ben, Josh and Haiden. Lauren was the only little girl there although I'm sure she didn't notice. Also, I did not get a lot of great pictures. I'm taking a photo class on Wed. and I'm excited because I feel like sometimes I'm missing some good shots because I don't really know how to use my camera...

I think this gift may have been his favorite, (a pool that we can fill with balls - from Haiden and Collin) because as soon as it was unwrapped, he propped up his left foot. It was funny. Maybe he was making sure that all the other kids knew it was his? Once we opened it he was happy to share, which is good because the kids had a blast with all those colored plastic balls!
